This is a fabulous vintage, French, "Laurent Perrier Champagne" ice bucket /wine cooler from the 1980's.
Now iconic and very collectible these ice buckets were a promotional item, never for sale to the general public, given to restaurants, bars and bistros all over France to promote this brand of French Champagne.
The front of this bucket has a metal label bearing the famous, and instantly recognizable, "Champagne Laurent Perrier" logo. This world class champagne house has been producing Champagne in Tours-sur-Marne, near Reims since 1812. It is stamped 'M.O.D. Meaux, ARGIT, Made in France' on the underside.
This ice bucket is in excellent condition and, considering its age, there is very little damage to the metal. It has obviously seen some action in French bars and bistros over the years but is still in excellent condition. It has no major dents, just some marks and scratches across the surface, consistent with use, and some slight discoloration on the inside, from years of holding ice and water. It has many, many years of service still to offer.
It has sturdy handles with 'rings', making it easy to carry without needing to touch the cold bucket.
The 'vintage' appearance simply adds to it's charm and authenticity.
The bucket stands 21cms (8¼") tall and is tapered measuring 15cms (6") diameter at the bottom and 20cms (7 ¾") diameter at the top. It weighs 500gms (1.1 lbs).
